All about PlayDiplomacy.com
PlayDiplomacy.com is a games site where you can play an internet version of the board game Diplomacy. The game itself was created in the 1950s by Allan B Calhamer. It is a 7-player game that includes tactical movement of armies and fleets with diplomatic negotiations with the other players. The board game is a trademark of Avallon Hill.
PlayDiplomacy.com allows you to play against people you don't know from all over the world. It is uses an automated judge which is fully up-to-date with published rules. The maps use a "point and click" interface and allow players to send messages to one or more others secretly or issue announcements to the whole board via Public Press. Public Press can be anonymous, for that extra mystery! Once you've joined the site you can play up to three games consecutively for FREE. However, there is also an option to sign-up for PREMIUM membership, for whatever price you are willing to pay.. For this you can play an unlimited number of games, play variants, play anonymous games and play "Live" games. The site has an extremely active FORUM. On here you can advertise new games and find games created by site regulars. You can ask questions about the Rules, discuss Strategy and the game of Diplomacy. There is also a DIPLOMACY VARIANTS FORUM GAMES section in which members of the site run a variety of Dip variants. Other games, such as Mafia, are also played regularly. Take a look when you're on site! Well worth it. |
